Saturday is Cathy's Critters Earth Day! The day we post recycling ideas for you and your pet to save you money!

The coming months of hot, humid summer days ahead bring something cooling, tasty and popular with both kids and adults. But it's also something which leaves trash, or really, treasure from the recycling standpoint---popsicle sticks!

Don't throw that stick away! It can be used to make a variety if cat toys! All you have to do is glue on a string! This "cat teaser" is quick, easy and your cat will love it. A variation would be to add a feather or a pom pom to the end.

Have enough teasers or don't have a cat? Build a house for a smaller family member, such as a ferret, rabbit or mouse. Just keep in mind, popsicle sticks are small, so when you make a house, measure your animal before designing it! And be sure to use nontoxic glue, properly dried, before giving the house to your pet! They will chew it!

Do you have any ideas for adapting popsicle sticks for pet use? We'd be really glad to hear from you! Please leave a comment in the comments section! Thank you!

Love,

Cathy's Critters
