I often hear of how cats are "sneaky". Even from pet experts. However, this is patently untrue. The term "sneaky" implies a motive which is less than honest. Cats are stealthy. Honestly stealthy.

For that matter, cats are really like children. What child hasn't gone through that "hide and seek" phase in their lives. Many never really grow out of it. Cats never, for the most part, grow out of it. That's okay. Isn't that what many people get them for, anyway? To hunt?

Cats are born hunters and stalkers. Some prefer to do little else. Others prefer a lap, or in the case of mine, a shoulder, to lay on. One of my  cats seems to be happiest when she's sleeping peacefully on my shoulders or in my arms.

Let's eliminate the word "sneaky" when we're describing cats. Cat lovers, especially. It's probably the biggest reason cat haters hate cats. And the silliest. Imagine. If a cat were to say "I hate humans because they're bossy"! Wouldn't that same cat be more comfortable with the word "assertive"?
