Saturday is Cathy's Critters Earth Day! The day we post recycling ideas for you and your pet to save you money!

An excellent toy for a dog is an old stuffed animal. Unfortunately, I know this from experience, as my dogs have ruined many of the plush toys laying around my house. If you intend to give your pet a plush toy, or for that matter, any people toys, be sure to watch them carefully. And make sure there are no loose threads or loose parts. As with dog toys, watch for holes and wear and tear. Also, if your dog is a chewer, this is not necessarily a suggestion for you. There may too much of a choking risk.

If your dog is lonely, a stuffed animal can also be his best friend. Select a toy approximately his size. Many dogs will cuddle this "replacement dog" as though it were a real dog! He may even think it is!

Do you have any ideas for adapting plush toys for pet use? We'd be really glad to hear from you! Please leave a comment in the comments section! Thank you!

Love,

Cathy's Critters
